Zagato ALFA

This is a 1933 ALFA Zagato some friends of mine are restoring. This car as a basket was bought for a million dollars. The angle iron frame instead of a wooden frame at the time was lighter thus deserving the designation "Superleggera" or "Super light" in English. The rear axle was made from fabricated sheet metal (Very unconventional but very light).

Tim's Funooz-Tupperware parties for pets...What?

April 16, 2009
BY CELESTE BUSK cbusk@suntimes.com
First there was Tupperware parties. Now there's the "pupperware" party.
The concept is pretty much the same as Tupperware or almost any other product sold at home parties. Someone hosts a party and invites his or her friends and family to check out a product line. Only with these parties, the guest list doesn't have to be limited to humans. Canine companions welcome!
Laura Macklin hosted a Shure Pet Party at her home. (Richard A. Chapman/Sun-Times) PHOTO GALLERYRELATED STORIES The Pet Party is being offered by Shure Pets, a national pet product company based in Chicago.
Spending money on our household animals is at an all-time high. We may be in a recession, but we're not cutting back on pampering our pets, according to figures from the American Pet Products Association. The group's most recent statistics show that consumers in the United States spent $43.2 billion on their pets in 2008, up from $41.2 billion in 2007.
Laura Macklin, sales and training director for the Pet Party, recently held a pupperware party at her west suburban home.
"We even had a 10-week-old puppy come to visit, and we gave her a spa treatment. We put spritzer on her, brushed her all out, put paw balm on her paws and made her look really pretty," Macklin said.
Guests at Macklin's Pet Party were shown Shure Pets' lineup of products including Paramount Paw Balm, the Ulti-Mutt Candy Bar, Devine Canine and Feline Breath Mints. There also were a variety of collars and leashes to choose from, as well as beds for cats and dogs. Other products being touted include organic catnip, a variety of shampoos and conditioners and dog treats.

Tim's Funooz-Get hit from the back and make 5 bucks

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A driver who hit a teen boy with her car, knocking him up onto the hood and into the windshield, gave him $5 and asked him not to tell on her before fleeing the scene, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
The victim told a deputy he was walking down a city street around 6 p.m. when a white Honda sedan with California plates hit him from behind, throwing him onto the car's hood and into the windshield before knocking him to the ground.
The victim said the female driver got out of the car and handed him a $5 bill, then asked him not to tell on her. The woman got back into her car and drove away.
The victim said he felt fine until about an hour after the incident when he began having severe pain in his back, tail bone and left knee.
The victim was treated and released from the emergency room at Mercy Hospital, where deputies interviewed him about the accident.
The sheriff is investigating the crash as a hit-and-run accident.

Jack "Fur"cells

Introducing the fake fur Jack Purcell shoes. If Converse ever had the sense to actually make these shoes as comfortable as they are good looking they would put most other shoes makers out of business (I even like them more than Chuck Taylors).

Nazi era friendship charms

A friend of mine found two photos that two GIs took of each other after a victory in WW2. My friend has the other one that has the other guy posing with the flag around his waist like a dress (I will try to post it later). I love the shadow of the photographer.

My friend decided that these would make funny friendship charms. She was right.

Tim's Funooz-Man breaks into house to steal food and winds up getting eaten...kinda!

APPLETON — A Grand Chute woman who chased a burglar and bit his hand got a big enough piece of him to provide a DNA match that led to his arrest, authorities say.

Scott D. Cross, 23, 620 W. Fourth St., No. 1, Appleton, was charged Monday in Outagamie County Court with burglary and bail jumping, both as a repeat offender. He was jailed on a $10,000 cash bond with a preliminary hearing set for April 23.On Feb. 26, a Grand Chute woman told police she was awakened when someone entered her Eighth Street residence. She found someone standing in her hallway and yelled out "What are you doing?"Cross then ran from the residence with the 39-year-old woman in close pursuit. She tackled Cross, and when he put his hand near her face, she bit down on his finger, according to the criminal complaint. She told police she bit him so hard it pushed one of her teeth outward.Police collected enough blood and skin from her mouth to process a DNA sample, which led to Cross.Scott, when interviewed by police, said he was drunk and went into the woman's house to steal food.

A matchbox made in heaven

This little car was one of my faves as a kid. I loved watching rally racing on ESPN when the Quattro Sport was killing in group B. This FIAT was the closest thing that I had. I thought that rally racing had the best drivers in the world and I still believe it today.

A very special delivery

Found this 1955 Divco delivery a while back and finally got a tour from the 25 year owner. It's a rare short wheel base version. Very European looking but made in the USA. He drives it on the propery regularly as a utility vehicle. "We specialize in baby milk" on the side...Back when milking babies was still legal.
